Testing conducted by Apple in July and August 2026 using pre‑production AirPods 5 and AirPods 5 with Wireless Charging Case paired with pre‑production iPhone 18 Pro units, all with pre‑release software. The playlist consisted of 358 unique audio tracks purchased from the iTunes Store (256‑Kbps AAC encoding). Volume was set to 50%, Spatial Audio and Conversation Awareness were off, and Noise Control was set to Active Noise Cancellation. With Noise Control turned off, listening time for AirPods 5 was up to 6 hours and listening time for AirPods 5 with Wireless Charging Case was up to 7 hours. Testing consisted of full AirPods battery discharge while playing audio until the first AirPod stopped playback.

Testing conducted by Apple in July and August 2026 using pre‑production AirPods 5 and charging case and AirPods 5 with Wireless Charging Case paired with pre‑production iPhone 18 Pro units, all with pre‑release software. The drained AirPods were charged to 100%, then audio playback was resumed until the first AirPod stopped playback. This cycle was repeated until both the AirPods and charging case were fully discharged.

Charging: USB‑C charging requires a compatible USB‑C charger. Wireless charging requires a Qi‑certified wireless charger. MagSafe charging requires a compatible MagSafe charger. AirPods 5 with Wireless Charging Case, AirPods 4 with Active Noise Cancellation, AirPods Pro 2 and AirPods Pro 3 charging cases also work with the Apple Watch charger.

Dust, Sweat and Water Resistance: AirPods 5, AirPods 4, AirPods 4 with Active Noise Cancellation and AirPods Pro 3 are dust, sweat and water resistant for non‑water sports and exercise. AirPods 4 and AirPods 4 with Active Noise Cancellation are IP54 rated. AirPods 5 and AirPods Pro 3 are IP57 rated. Dust, sweat and water resistance are not permanent conditions. Find My: Find My functionality requires iOS 27 or later.

Hearing Test and Hearing Aid Features: The Hearing Test and Hearing Aid features are supported on AirPods Pro 2 and later with the latest firmware paired with a compatible iPhone or iPad with iOS 18 or iPadOS 18 and later and are intended for people 18 years old or older. The Hearing Aid feature is also supported on a compatible Mac with macOS Sequoia and later. It is intended for people with perceived mild to moderate hearing loss. Heart Rate Sensing: Built‑in heart rate monitor is intended for use during workouts with the Fitness app and compatible third‑party apps on iPhone running iOS 26 and later. Refer to support.apple.com/en-sg/123184 for more information.

Live Translation: Available on compatible Apple devices with the latest operating system software when paired with compatible AirPods with the latest firmware when Apple Intelligence is turned on. Lossless Audio (USB-C): Lossless Audio listening requires a wired USB‑C connection and compatible content from supported apps and services.

Personalised Spatial Audio: Compatible hardware and software required. Works with compatible content in supported apps. Not all content available in Dolby Atmos. iPhone with TrueDepth camera required to create a personal profile for Personalised Spatial Audio, which will sync across Apple devices running the latest operating system software, including iOS, iPadOS, macOS and tvOS. Personalised Spatial Audio is not available when using other devices.
